The game, which was being played at Pelham Middle School on Wednesday afternoon, was in the first quarter when the player collapsed during a stop in play.
Medical attention was immediately provided by on-site staff, Pelham District Spokesman Alex Wolff said.
"Local EMS services responded quickly, and the student was transported to (Montefiore) New Rochelle Hospital," he said. "Trained District counselors have been made aware of the situation should additional support services be needed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the player, his family, and teammates."
Wolff added that the district would have no further comment at this time.
The game was suspended. Word was not available on whether the tournament would continue.
