Yorktown Teens Charged With Stealing Clothes From Sears

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – A 17-year-old Yorktown female and a 16-year-old Mohegan Lake female whose names are being withheld due to their eligibility for youthful offender status are charged with petty larceny after stealing from Sears on Friday, Feb. 13, according to Yorktown police.

Police said a call was received from Sears security reporting two female shoplifters in custody. Police were dispatched to the scene and following an investigation arrested the 17-year-old female and 16-year-old female after they allegedly exited Sears without attempting to pay for assorted clothing at a total of $64.96, according to police.

Following processing on the charges, the two were issued appearance tickets directing them to answer the charges in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, March 17 at 6 p.m. They were released on their own recognizance to their parents.
