Police Associations Group Backs Somers' Murphy For County Clerk

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Westchester’s Affiliated Police Associations, comprising 53 Police Benevolent Associations, has endorsed Somers Town Supervisor Mary Beth Murphy for Westchester county clerk.

Murphy has been town supervisor since 1998 and accepted the endorsement with great enthusiasm, according to a release.

“This law enforcement organization comprises many of the police associations I have worked with for many years," Murphy said in a statement. "It is an honor to earn their respect and support for my candidacy as Westchester County Clerk.”

Murphy is in her eighth term as supervisor and is responsible for the management of the town including annual budgeting, capital project oversight, policy and ordinance formulation and implementation, personnel management and constituent communication.
