Sen. Blumenthal To Serve As Ranking Member Of Veterans' Affairs Committee

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) announced that he will serve as the Ranking Member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee when the 114th Congress convenes in January.

In addition to his new role on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Blumenthal will continue to serve on four additional committees: Armed Services, Judiciary, Commerce, and Aging.

“No obligation is more sacred than the debt we owe our military men and women. These veterans, and their needs, are diverse and varied, encompassing men and women of widely different ages, eras, and circumstances,” Blumenthal, a Greenwich resident, said in a statement.

“The challenges are immense, and I am honored to be leading the effort to tackle them."
