The church, which is at 285 Lyons Plain Road,  re-started the Epiphany tradition of burning Christmas trees seven years ago.  The event raised $2,000 for the Weston Warm-Up Fund in January.

Members of the Weston Volunteer Fire Department are present to stack the trees, control the fire and extinguish it. Dawn Egan will accept the donations on behalf of the Weston Warm-Up Fund. The bonfire is made by more than 100 Weston families whose trees have been brought to the site by church volunteers with pickup trucks or transported by homeowners.

The church invites everyone present to enjoy free refreshments in the parish hall after the bonfire. \

Checks for tax-deductible donations may be made out to the Weston Warm-Up Fund and given to the church volunteer drivers when they pick up trees on Saturday, Jan. 4. The suggested donation to have a tree picked up is $35 and $25 to drop your own.

For more information or to schedule a tree pickup, call 203-227-8565 or email office@emmanuelweston.org .
