New Canaan Police Looking for Eat-and-Run Couple

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Police are looking for a couple who allegedly ate and ran from a sushi restaurant without paying for their meal.

A woman and man dined at Sushi 25 on Elm Street at about 1 p.m. last Monday. The woman told an employee that she did not have the money to pay the $75.78 bill for the food and drinks, police said. The woman left a phone number where she could be reached and said she would return the next day. She did not return, police said. Police believe they have identified the woman. She could face a charge of sixth-degree larceny.

In other police news:

• Police were investigating a theft from an unlocked vehicle parked on Silvermine Road. A Norwalk man was working at the home at about 1 p.m. Aug. 5 and left his wallet in his vehicle, police said. The man told police he saw a red pickup truck pull up to the home. He also saw two men, who never went into the home. Police said the victim did not realize his wallet was missing until the next day. The wallet contained about $120 in cash, several credit and debit cards and a driver’s license.

Police said one was a thin white male in his 30s or 40s, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall to 6 feet tall. The other man looked to be in his 40s and overweight.

• Jennifer L. Piccerillo, 38, of Lakeview Avenue, was arrested on a warrant last Tuesday on a charge of second-degree failure to appear. Police said Piccerillo did not show up to Norwalk Superior Court on June 1 to respond to a charge of operating with a suspended license Oct. 23. Piccerillo was released on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on Aug. 22.
