What's Happening Around Eastchester This Week?

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – There is plenty to do around Eastchester this week. The Tuckahoe Village Board will host its only meeting of the month on Monday, and the Bronxville Public Library will be screening two films. See our Events Page for a complete list of local and county events.

Monday, Aug. 20

New You Challenge: 8:30 a.m. These classes explore different concepts of fitness from developing endurance, core strength and flexibility to weight loss. 30 Elm St., Tuckahoe.

Rotary Club meeting: 12 p.m. The Bronxville Rotary Club will host its weekly luncheon meeting. 1122-60 Kraft Ave., Bronxville.

Village Board meeting: 8 p.m. The Tuckahoe Village Board will have its only meeting of August at Village Hall. The agenda can be found here. 65 Main St., Tuckahoe.

Tuesday, Aug. 21

Film series: 1 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library will continue its summer film series when they screen “No Time for Sergeants,” starring Andy Griffith. 11 Oakridge Pl., Eastchester.

Paws and Tales: 4 p.m. Children will have the opportunity to hone their reading skills with some furry friends at the Tuckahoe Public Library. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Family film: 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Bronxville Public Library will screen “Tall Tale,” a film about a young boy that draws on the inspiration of legendary Western characters to fight an evil land baron. Run time is 98 minutes. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Childbirth class: 7:30 p.m. Lawrence Hospital is offering childbirth classes for expectant parents. Parents can attend class on three consecutive Tuesdays, or complete the entire session on a single Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The class costs $200 per couple. 55 Palmer Ave., Bronxville.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

Mystery club: 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend the Mystery Club at the Eastchester Public Library. 11 Oakridge Pl., Eastchester.

Befit training: 9:30 p.m. Befit offers unique training classes for women. They feature indoor and outdoor boot camp, strength, pilates, yoga, and one-on-one fitness. $15. 76 Main St., Tuckahoe.

Thursday, Aug. 23

Film series: 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Bronxville Public Library will air “Pal Joey,” a movie about a cabaret entertainer who seeks nightclub success in San Francisco. Runtime is 111 minutes. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Ballet classes: 3:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Children will be introduced to the art of ballet at the Tuckahoe Public Library. The first session is for 2- and 3-year-olds, and the second is for children ages 4 through 6. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.
