Pelham Shelters Remain Open; Schools' Status Expected

PELHAM, N.Y. – Pelham’s emergency shelters will remain open over the weekend, officials announced Friday. An update about the status of schools re-opening is also expected.

Trick or treating will also take place Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.

The Pelham Town House will be open for residents to use Internet Wi-Fi, and charge their phones, and laptops.

The Pelham Middle School gymnasium also will remain open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday so residents can charge electronics. Middle school computer classrooms will be open for Internet access, officials said.

Residents can use the school's boys and girls locker room showers from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (bring your own towel).

Elementary age appropriate movies will be shown for residents at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., and age appropriate movies for middle school students will be shown at 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Parental supervision is required officials said.

Middle school-age residents can take part in town recreation department-supervised activities in the main Pelham High School gym from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
