Snaith is an expert on sustainable cultural adaptations, and she'll discuss how these gardening methods can help gardeners, environmental activists, industrial agriculturalists and the general public. She will address how to obtain higher yields from gardens by creating efficient self-sustaining ecosystems, as well as discuss the details of global climate change.

The program is free and open to the public.

Snaith has a degree in anthropology and sociology, focusing on sustainable cultural adaptations. She moved to California to obtain her permaculture design certification, began doing permaculture consulting and landscape design, and completed an immersive course in elements of social permaculture. She recently moved back to Connecticut, where she offers permaculture consulting and works on programs related to the new concept of social permaculture.

The lecture will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the library's McManus Room. Participants are encouraged to explore the Westport Library's Seed Library & Exchange.

The Westport Library is located at 20 Jesup Rd. To keep up to date on library events, visit its webpage, or follow it on Facebook or Twitter.
