Melvyn R. Tanzman, who is seeking the Democratic nod, would go up against incumbent Michael Grace if nominated, Yorktown News.

According to his Facebook page, the trained social worker is the executive director of Westchester Disabled on the Move.

The Yonkers-based nonprofit recently sued Yorktown, claiming that Town Hall is not in compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act.

The suit alleges that since Town Hall does not have an elevator, its third floor is not accessible to people with disabilities. It also raises the issue of parking for the disabled.

Tanzman is also the former executive director of the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association.

Tanzman told Yorktown News if elected supervisor, he would focus on taxes, affordable housing, development and the environment.

Citing Grace's ability to keep taxes in check, Yorktown GOP Chair Matt Slater told Yorktown News  the nominating committee expects to formally endorse him for re-election.
