Covid-19: Long Island Sees New Increase In Positive Testing Rate

Long Island saw another new increase in the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to data released on Monday, Nov. 16.

In Suffolk County, the state Department of Health reported 345 new cases on Sunday, Nov. 15 with another 295 in Nassau County.

Here are positive testing rates for the last four days on Long Island:

  • Friday, Nov. 13: 3.3 percent
  • Saturday, Nov. 14: 2.7 percent
  • Sunday, Nov. 15: 3.5 percent

There were 25 COVID deaths statewide on Sunday, with two on Long Island (both in Nassau County), bringing the total to 26,159 during the pandemic.

Here is statewide data for Sunday:

  • Patient Hospitalization - 1,968 (+123)
  • Patients Newly Admitted - 265
  • Hospital Counties - 50
  • Number ICU - 391 (+13)
  • Number ICU with Intubation - 158 (+0)
  • Total Discharges - 81,908 (+120)
  • Deaths - 25
