Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School Holds Successful Food Drive

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Committee at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School collected more than 1,000 pounds of food during its Thanksgiving food drive from Nov. 10 through Nov. 25.

The committee greatly surpassed its original goal of 300 pounds of food.

"Students were highly involved in all aspects of the food drive," said Principal Robert Bergmann, explaining that the students planned and coordinated the drive. A group of eighth-grade students spent part of their lunch periods packing and weighing the donated food.

The food was donated to the Food Bank for  Westchester.
