Residents will be able to find legislative action by visiting the Lakeland Central School District website. The website has an added section that states, “The purpose of this site is to provide important information to parents and community members on current legislative issues and discussions,” according to Trustee Denise Kness, chair of the board’s Legislative Action Committee.
The page also includes several links to advocacy groups. Links to the Regional Educational Advocacy District, New York State School Boards Association and the New York Suburban Consortium for Public Education can be found. Residents can also find information about unfunded mandates, veterans property tax exemptions, and educational jargon.
Visit the website at http://www.lakelandschools.org/legislation. Contact information for local, federal, and state legislators can also be found on the website.
