In celebration of the occasion, Perry was presented a certificate of recognition and a medal of honor at the ceremony as his family and BOCES teachers and administrators looked on. Fox Meadow Principal Ricki Butler spoke about Perry and his personable character.
“Matthew is such a pleasure to have on our campus,” Butler said. “We know that he will continue to break new ground and take on new challenges while continuing to be kind, polite and caring,”
After the ceremony, Perry’s mother, Barbara Perry, spoke about her son’s successes.
“I’m amazingly proud,” said Barbara Perry. “He’s come such a long way. We’re really happy with the program and he loves it over at Fox Meadow. He’s been with BOCES since he was in seventh grade and he really seems to enjoy it, and that’s what really matters.”
