SOMERS, N.Y. -- Fans of live music in northern Westchester County will have the opportunity to hear students of Somer Central School District perform a medley of favorites at the first ever "Bandamonium," held Friday, June 19 at 7 p.m. on the grounds of Somers High School.

Sponsored by S.T.A.R.S, a brand new parent performing arts booster organization, bands from across the school district will play a brief, informal program of lighter and popular concert selections for the audience. This marks the first time that all bands within the school district will be playing together in one concert.

Composed of parents, faculty, and other interested members of the SCSD community, the newly formed Somers Tuskers Arts Rising Stars (S.T.A.R.S) aims to use the concert to help build community between band members from grades 4-12, as wells as show young people from Somers how much fun playing an instrument can be.

The concert is free to attend, and guests are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and a picnic dinner while enjoying the show. With the support of several local music businesses, raffles will also be held throughout the evening.
