Gonzalez is "an aspiring sunscreen model" known for such facial applications as American flags, an "underground beat boxer" who sings on a moment's notice and someone with "high work ethic standards," said TeamUSA.org.

The article describes her as "charming," "magnetic" and someone who "is all business on the pitch," while funny with "quick banter" when not on the hockey field.

Gonzales guided Lakeland High School to a four-year record of 82-5-2, including two state championships, the report said.

At the University of Connecticut, she was the 2010 NFHCA All-America first team, NFHCA Mideast Region Player of the Year and was "back-to-back titleholder of the Big East Defensive Player of the Year," as well as a finalist in the Honda Sports Award, according to TeamUSA.org.
