The superintendent expects that the investigation of the game played Jan. 7 will end either later this week or early next week. Students and adults who were at the game are being spoken to as part of the investigation, according to Monahan.

Monahan added he will have more details to say once the investigation is over.

The player is accused of using the language at a game earlier this month. The teams are scheduled to meet again on Friday, Jan. 23 at 4 p.m., with Mahopac hosting.

Precautions are being planned for the next game, Monahan said. They include a request from the school district to have an extra official and a meeting of the principals of both Mahopac and Carmel high schools to discuss stressing to students the importance of sportsmanship.
