ALBANY, N.Y. -- After a loss in his first match at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Wrestling Championships, Somers Dom DeVita faced a no-lose situation.
A loss in his next match would have concluded the Section 1 large-school 220-pound champions career. DeVita rebounded and would wrestle his back to the placing round with three wins.
DeVita went on to conclude his Somers career with a sixth-place finish, Saturday, at the Times Union Center.
DeVita, whose brother, Rino, was the 2011 Section 1 large-school 145-pound champion, earned a berth in the placing round with a 4-2 overtime win over Commacks David Rubino in his first match, Saturday.
