SOMERS, N.Y. -- An introduction to yoga and mindfulness is among the kids events scheduled for April at the Somers Library.
Babysitting: Essential Knowledge for the Smart Sitter: Want to know all of the ins and outs of babysitting? Some of the topics that will be covered are infant care, playing, responsibilities and emergencies. Bring lunch, a drink, a notebook and a pencil to participate in this program on Saturday, April 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Certificates of completion will be given at the end of class. Teens & Tweens Intro to yoga and mindfulness: Bring a yoga mat or a large beach towel to class. This class is geared toward teens and tweens in fourth grade and up. Fridays, April 17 and May 1 from 3:30-4:30 pm
- Learn to slow down and increase awareness both externally and internally.
- Learn to use breath to find calm during times of challenge.
- Learn to feel energetic through grounding, strengthening and balancing.
- Learn to relax and restore both body and mind.
