Somers Memorial Day Features Parade, Antiques Fair

SOMERS, N.Y. – The Somers Memorial Day Parade will kick off at 10 a.m. Monday at Somers Middle School as the first of many events throughout the day.

The parade, hosted by Somers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8213 will continue from Somers Middle School to the Veterans Memorial in Ivandell Cemetary. A remembrance ceremony will follow the parade with refreshments served at Somers Town House. The Somers Historical Society Museum will be open to the public following the ceremonies at Ivandell Cemetery until 1 p.m. and the 28th consecutive Antiques Fair is set to start at 10 a.m. at Somers’ Lasdon Park and Arboretum. 

The antiques shopping tradition will feature music by Gary Dillon and the Friends of Lasdon will be offering plants for the spring and summer seasons. Dozens of dealers from New England and the Mid-Atlantic states will be present at booths and tents and the show is set to continue through the afternoon rain or shine. 

Admission to the fair is $7 and there is no charge for parking. No dogs are allowed on the Lasdon grounds or inside of cars. The Lasdon Park and Arboretum is in Somers on Route 35, west of I-684.
