SOMERS, N.Y. – The third annual “Running Goddess 5K: The Power of One” run/walk will be held Sunday at Lasdon Park in Somers.
There will also be a Kid’s 1Miler for children ages 7-12.
Both events will benefit local charities that advocate for women’s health, including Kakenya’s Center for Excellence, Katonah Education and Exchange Program, Support Connection, and the Running Goddess International Scholarship.
“Our run/walk is a chance for families to encourage fitness and spend time together outdoors, while coming together to support causes that provide services and scholarships to girls and women,” Bettina Sementilli, founder of the Running Goddess and an avid runner herself, said in a press release.
The 5K will begin at 8 a.m., with the Kid’s 1Miler starting at 9 a.m.
Registration for the 5K is $25 for students 18 years of age or younger, and $35 for adults.
The registration fee for the Kid’s 1Miler is $20.
Participants may register in person at Cross Sport Woman, 194 Katonah Ave., Katonah, or Pins & Needles, 159 Lexington Ave., Mount Kisco.
