The The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is planning to hike toll and bus fares in 2017, according to multiple reports.
Current plans could result in an increase of up to 4 percent during the course of the next two years, reports say.
Although two different proposals are being considered, both would result in higher rates for MetroCards, amny.com reports.
The increased rates are slated to begin in March, according to the New York Daily News.
