A felon is facing up to seven years in prison after admitting to stealing three cars from Westchester County auto dealerships by stealing peoples' identities.

New York City resident Milton Alequin, 23, has been sentenced as a second felony offender to a term of three and a half to seven years in prison following a guilty plea to grand larceny in June. He must also pay the dealerships $133,913 for two cars that were never recovered.

All of the thefts came in February.

Using the personal identifying and financial information of his first victim, Alequin financed a Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck for $78,487 on Feb. 3 at Bill Volz’s Westchester Chrysler Jeep Ram in Cortlandt. He also used a forged Pennsylvania driver’s license and signed several documents in his victim’s name.

On Feb. 7, Alequin did the same to finance a Ford F150 pickup truck for $55,426 at Rye Ford. In this instance, he provided a forged New Jersey driver’s license to the dealership and forged a satellite television bill as proof of residence.

In the third instance, on Feb. 18, Alequin financed a Toyota Camry for $38,553 at Rivera Toyota in Mount Kisco. Alequin used his third victim’s name, address, date of birth and Social Security number to do so. He also used a forged Connecticut driver’s license and another forged television bill. The Toyota was eventually recovered by the NYPD in Brooklyn.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. said that in all three cases, Alequin took possession of the vehicles on the same day he purchased them and drove off the lot without putting any money down. Alequin was arrested on April 5 by members of the Westchester County Police Department and has been remanded since.
