Fred DeLuca, 93, Of Somers

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Fred DeLuca, a resident of Somers, died Friday, Feb.19. He was 93.

DeLuca was an investigator with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management for more than 30 years before retiring. He served in the U.S Army Air Forces during World War II. He was an active member in the Somers VFW always attending parades. He was also a member of the Massapequa Park Lions Club. 

He is survived by his two children; Susan Meola and her husband, Tony of Brewster, N.Y., and Richard DeLuca and his wife, Donna of Massapequa, N.Y, his sister Annette Scott and his two granddaughters; Jeannette and Allison DeLuca.

He was predeceased by his two siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, Feb. 22, at St. Joseph’s Church, Somers. Interment was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne. 

Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., handled the arrangements.
