CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – William Dunloy Laemmel, a longtime resident of Croton-on-Hudson, died Wednesday, March 9. He was 81.
He was born in Brooklyn on Sept. 14, 1934, to the late William G. and Florence (Dunloy) Laemmel. He was a U.S. Air Force pilot and was honorably discharged with the rank of captain and served from 1957-62.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gloria J. Laemmel; his children, Margaret (Michael Sandoval) Laemmel, William (Amy), Bruce (Jen) and Bart Laemmel; a sister, Nancy Hartmann; his grandchildren, Issey, Masumi, Will, Aaron, Cooper, Bryce, Sophie, and Ruby; and his American Field Service son, Pietro.
His AFS daughter, Magui, predeceased him.
Funeral services were scheduled for Monday, March 14, at 2 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 17 Old Post Road S., Croton-on-Hudson. Burial services will be private.
