State Police From Somers Issue 61 Tickets In Six Hours

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- More than 60 tickets were issued in a six-hour period at FDR State Park in Yorktown, according to New York State Police.

State Police in Somers conducted an "Occupant Safety Enforcement Detail" at the entrance of FDR State Park in Yorktown between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Sunday, according to a news release. The detail resulted in 61 tickets being issued, a majority for failure to wear a seat belt, according to the release. 

"This highway safety initiative perpetuates the mission of the State Police to reduce deaths, injuries and property damage caused by motor vehicle accidents through vehicle and traffic enforcement," according to the release.
