Speeding BMW Driver Killed Crashing Into Parked Car In Southeast DC

A 50-year-old man is dead after crashing his BMW into a parked car in Southeast DC.

DC Resident William Lamont Walker has been identified as the driver who was killed on Wednesday, April 26 in the 4300 block of Southern Avenue SE, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police say that shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Walker was driving a BMW 328i northbound on Southern Avenue at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended a Buick Lucerne, which was parked and occupied at the time of the crash.

Walker was rushed to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to officials. The driver of the Buick was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

It is unclear what caused Walker to crash into the parked car. The investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing.
