Jefferson Valley Show Celebrates Lakeland Musicians, Artists

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The 31st annual Lakeland Week of the Arts kicked off with a celebratory night of music and art on Monday, May 9, at the Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown.

The opening ceremony featured live music from Lakeland Central School District student musicians. The TJ Pride Singers from Thomas Jefferson Elementary School were joined by high school singers at the opening ceremony, which was held in the mall's center court.

Student artists from the district demonstrated the wide range of art skills and techniques they use to create the art on display.

For the first time, the artwork will be on display for two weeks through Sunday, May 22.
