Cummings comes to LHS from Walter Panas High School where he has served as an assistant principal.

"It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the Interim Principal of Lakeland High School," Cummings said in a letter to the district. "As a former student, teacher and administrator in the Lakeland Central School District, it is a privilege and honor to rejoin the dedicated faculty and community at Lakeland High School."

Cummings replaces Lorrie Yurish, who retired at the end of February.

Before moving to Panas in 2013, Cummings was an assistant principal at Lakeland HS (2008-2011) and Lakeland Copper Beech MS (2011-2013).

“With his wealth of experience in the district as both a teacher and administrator," Superintendent Dr. George Stone said. "We believe Chris will continue Ms. Yurish's record of strong leadership at Lakeland High School as we move forward.”
