The Paper Roller Coaster project asked students to a roller coaster out of nothing but paper and Scotch tape. The structure must be strong enough for a marble to travel its length for at least 30 seconds.

Students participating in the project, a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activity, are provided with a greater understanding of Newton's Laws, uniform circular motion and energy, according to a statement from the school.

"Many students who do not excel with the mathematics or language portions of this class were able to exceed the expectations and requirements of this assignment," said Frank Prost, the physics teacher running the project. "Students learned how to work with their hands and develop solutions to problems as they revealed themselves, which is a skill that is necessary for our ever developing society."
