2 Dutchess County Inmates Arrested Again For New Crimes Two inmates at a Hudson Valley jail have been charged with new crimes while behind bars. Dutchess County residents William Green Jr., age 30, of Poughkeepsie, and Craig Albrecht, age 41, of East Fishkill, were charged on Wednesday, May 1. According to Capt. John Watterson with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Green and Albrecht were arrested separately for the same crime. Dutchess County Man Hit, Killed By Pickup Truck A 39-year-old Hudson Valley man was struck and killed by a Dodge Ram pickup truck while standing on a roadway in Connecticut. The crash occurred in Hartford County around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, on I-91 north of the Exit 46 on-ramp in Enfield. According to the Connecticut State Police, Dutchess County resident TJ Jennings of Hopewell Junction was standing in the highway's right lane when struck by the truck. The truck came to a stop on the right shoulder, state police said. State Police said Jennings sustained injuries "not compatible with life" and was pronounced dead at the scene. …

16-Year-Old Sets Fire To School In Region, Police Say Classes were in session when a 16-year-old allegedly set fire to a high school in the region. The Albany County incident happened Tuesday, April 23, at Bethlehem High School. According to Bethlehem Police, the juvenile suspect intentionally started a fire in a school bathroom in the C wing.  No students or staff were injured, but the incident forced an evacuation of the building that lasted nearly an hour. Driver Dies In Fiery Crash On I-84 In Kent A person was killed in a fiery crash on a busy Hudson Valley highway, police announced.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Monday, May 6, around 7:15 p.m., when a vehicle traveling on I-84 in Kent left the roadway and struck a tree, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police. After hitting the tree, the vehicle went up in flames, Hicks said. The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash has not been released.
