The sheriff's office put out an attempt to ID flyer after $4,400 worth of items were stolen from the Worth Avenue Home Depot on Sunday, April 22. In a matter of minutes, citizens identified the suspect as Eliezer Diaz Hernandez, 41, of Alexandria, the sheriff's office said. He was charged with grand larceny and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $10,000 secured bond. Authorities were on scene at T Clay Wood Elementary School in Nokesville as of 10:15 a.m. a report of a bomb threat to the school.  No devices were located and the school was evacuated temporarily.  Patrons will be allowed back inside following a search of the school.

Body Found In Alexandria River A man's body was found in an Alexandria river on Wednesday, April 24, police said. Officers were called to the 4100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue near Four Mile Park around 1:30 p.m., the Alexandria Police Department said. The adult male was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy is expected to determine the cause and manner of death. Earlier in the week, Alexandria police announced a suspicious death investigation on North Henry Street. They said only that an injured man was found at the scene and later pronounced dead.
